Tauron (childhood name: “Oromë” — pronounced o’romeh) is a wood-elf, eldest son of the Galanodel (“Moonwhisper”) family from Everdusk Grove — and he has been specially chosen and trained as a sylvan Druid of the Moon Circle. Fortunately and happily for him though, Tauron has been unusually privileged to have been formally trained by both his mother and his father: as a reverent spiritual steward of nature and as a constantly ranging martial sentinel (vigilantly guarding the forests of his beloved homeland for many years while hunting with his younger brother at his father’s side). Indeed, Tauron feels proud to be considered something of a burgeoning prodigy by his family and community after reaching adulthood — and has dutifully taken on some important responsibilities among his people in recent decades and sincerely embraced his Druidic calling, yet he undeniably feels drawn to wanderlust and destined for greater things than a sheltered and relatively isolated life spent entirely among his own people.
In his youth, Tauron eagerly served as a wilderness guide for outsiders who occasionally trade with wood-elves — and has sometimes ventured well beyond the borders of his beloved sylvan homeland in this capacity for extended periods of time (perfecting his fluency in speaking and writing the common tongue); consequently, Tauron lacks the xenophobia that characterizes many of his race. Moreover, a cryptic vision from his mother prompted Tauron’s journey to Winterhaven in search of adventure and destiny.
Tauron’s father is named Aldaron (and he is a fierce patrol captain among the ranging sylvan warrior-sentinels who tirelessly defend the wood-elves’ forested homeland while hunting for their livelihood), his mother is Brethil (a Druid like Tauron, also serving the Moon Circle) — and Tauron has one younger brother, Dînfaroth (a hunter, childhood name: “Tirion”) and one younger sister, Almaren.
